Please comment on your personal observations of how the media and "we the people" are responding to this. Are we reacting the same as 911, or have we somehow changed the way we react since then?

Follow-up question:
What do you remember of the nations 911 reaction on the whole?

Thanks for your reply! ;o)|||You Americans have a knack for turning any tragedy into a media extravaganza. Just live your own lives rather than the over-the=top voyeuristic and vicarious living.|||On 9/11, America was united because it was an attack against America on American soil. We were brought together because the sadness and tragedy.

We're brought close together because of the Tucson tragedy because, though only few people died, each person had a story which was told. This gave a feeling of connection between people. It's much easier to connect with a few people than with thousands.

All together, I believe we were more struck by the 9/11 attacks thought the Tuscon tragedy is still sad.|||though the tucson incident had been a tragedy, i don't think America/the media has reacted as much. i mean Americans are outraged and it's a big story right now. and it's on the wordly news everynight since it happened. it is a big tragedy and a lot of people are mourning it. but 911 was HUGE. it had to be the biggest terrorist attack on American soil. you gotta realize that in The tuscon tragedy, a few innocent people were killed. and it's a big deal. it has affected the nation. but in 911, thousands of people were killed and it affected us alot. even though 911 lasted for a day, it's been going on for years and because of it, war started. and even to this day it's still discussed.|||I don't think you can compare the two events.
