I have 7 days in Tucson, mainly for the Gem show in Feb 08 but, would like to see the Grand Canyon and Tombstone too if possible, if they are not too far away! I am unable to walk far only about a mile, so any tips on tours etc, would be very helpful, thanks.|||It's about a 5-6 hour drive|||Depending upon whether or not you hit snow on the way up there it's about 6 hours
Your best bet is to rent a car and just drive up there. Make sure you get a V-6 in it because you will have 3 major climbs to do and there is no substitute for horsepower
Question :
The way that the road system is set up in GCNP I think that the longest walk you will have from anywhwere that you would park to the Rim would be under 1/4 mi and in most places much closer.
Question:
Since you can only walk a mile can you handle walking at 7500' ?
